Job Description: The Driver / warehouse coordinator will be responsible in supporting the team at VWS in the following areas:

Picking up furniture at our workshop partners (400 to 800 miles per week) and consolidating orders for delivery by our long distance shippers as well as our own shippers
Prepping & delivering furniture within an area of approximately a 150 mile radius of Vernon, VT
Organizing orders and maintaining warehouse
Maintaining Vernon facility which includes equipment (tractor/implements, mowers, snow throwers, weed wackers, chainsaws, log splitter, etc). Routine building and grounds maintenance
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Requirements/Experience

Clean driving record to be able to drive 20’ box truck (DOT Med cert / non-CDL)
Physically capable of assisting lifting heavy furniture up stairs (from small night stands to large 10 drawer dressers)

Education

High school graduate
Knowledgeable in basic equipment and lawn maintenance

Skills

Strong communication skills to confidently explain information and converse with customers/clients during delivery
Organizational skills to effectively manage building and grounds around the weather
Ability to work autonomously at times
Ability to work on the building and grounds on occasion in inclement weather

Working Locations/Conditions:

Vermont Woods Studios Main office building and showroom is located at 538 Huckle Hill road, Vernon, VT 05354 which is located on a 109 acre parcel with renovated farmhouse.
VWS warehouse is located at 28 River Street, Windsor, VT

Work Hours

40 hour work week that supports VWS operations and customer support
Monday to Friday
Minimal amount of being “on-call”

Compensation: $20 to $22 per hour.

Benefits:

Annual bonus program based on individual and company performance indicators (historically 7.5% of gross EOY wages)
Paid holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and 2 floating personal days)
Vacation - accrued time off based on years of service (24 hours during the first year, 2 weeks after first year and increasing with additional years of service)
SEP IRA – funded dependent on company net profits (historically 7.5% of gross EOY wages)
Medical – Stipend of $700/mo (in lieu of health insurance)

There is a 3 month probationary period for this position.
