For fun, he has been skateboarding for over 20 years and now runs skateboard summer camps for kids in Brattleboro, where he moved in 2020. Stephen created his first hand-made skateboard deck as a teenager in his parent’s basement. That first board was not very durable, and ended up as a piece of beloved wall art. 16 years later he visited Hatch Space to learn how to properly build a more durable, refined skateboard deck. He now instructs others on the process of designing, shaping, and constructing their own custom decks that can be used in the parks or the streets. stephenmatter.com instagram.com/skate_birder Class PoliciesWe're excited to have you join us for a class or workshop at HatchSpace!
